ISIS and James Foley

I haven't been following the news recently. But now that school is back in I've been exposed to chatter by students who have been. One term that has been repeated very often is ISIS and the situation in Iraq. I usually try to keep my hands out of these stories because I often get passionate about ideals and the situation. This usually only serves to make me and those around me mad. However, I feel that I can compose my thoughts on a blog and everything can be a little more civil as compared to when I debate and discuss in person.

On Facebook today, while I was looking at the trending topics the name James Foley was on the list. I clicked it and started to read the story. The man was a reporter, who had been missing since 2012 in the middle east. He was executed by an ISIS spokesperson. I looked up the video and watched it. The insurgent makes demands from Obama, kills James Foley and then reveals that they have another American journalist. He tells Obama that 'This mans life depends on your next move". This puts Obama in a very tough position. Regardless of what you think of him, this is a sticky situation. Pardon my French but he's damned if he doesn't comply and he's damned if he does. What do you guys think about the whole situation?
